A quarter of a million light meals are distributed every year by Refuah’ VeChaim in all the hospitals in central Israel- 2000 meals a day!

Did you ever think how it would be possible to grant great satisfaction to your body and soul- simultaneously?  Refuah’ VeChaim has an answer to that question hundreds of times, every evening, for twenty five years!

Over 1500 fresh food boxes, packaged in good taste with a side of a soft drink bottle travel every day to the major medical centers in central Israel: Shiba, Schneider, Bellinson and Mayanei Hayeshua Medical Center; by hundreds of Refuah’ VeChaim volunteers. The light meals are given out free of charge, mostly in ER, Pediatrics and Oncology.

For the families of the inpatients, who are under much stress and worry, the rich sandwich handed over, more times than not- after a whole day of a fast brought upon by the circumstances, is a relieving life vest. Often the box will arrive with a small toy for the child and some candy. The experience is commonly exciting beyond words- small deeds of kindness and compassion that Refuah’ VeChaim makes sure to spread every day, for the past 25 years now.
